Description: CalAIM opened the door for Managed Care Plans to pay for Recuperative Care with Medi-Cal funds. To help facilitate successful partnerships between payers and providers, recuperative care providers, MCPs and hospitals in the Los Angeles area jumped at the opportunity to create the L.A. Recuperative Care Learning Network (LARCLN). More than two years later, referral processes, CalAIM reimbursements and other challenges have been resolved — thanks to the hard work of LARCLN stakeholders’ commitment to getting partners to the table, breaking down communication barriers, and creating a streamlined, collaborative system of care other counties are beginning to replicate.
