Nominate Yourself or a Colleague by February 29, 2024
The work of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council continues to be critical in this time of increasing homelessness. The Council’s endeavors in education, research, training, and support of health centers, HCH programs, and medical respite programs across the country depend on the strong leadership of an informed and inclusive Board of Directors. We rely on the Board to be representative of Council membership and to help guide our efforts in meeting the needs of our community.
Please help us identify outstanding leaders committed to our mission of eliminating homelessness. The Council is now accepting nominations for new Board members and officers. Each Board member is eligible to serve up to two, two-year terms. Officers generally serve one-year terms. Thank you in advance for your willingness to help us meet the challenges of this difficult yet rewarding work.
All nominations are due by February 29, 2024.
The Annual Meeting of the Governing Membership will take place at the National Health Care for the Homeless Conference & Policy Symposium on May 14, 2024 in Phoenix, AZ. At this meeting, we will elect Board members and officers from your nominations.
Any Individual Member or Organizational Member representative may submit a nomination, and members are encouraged to self-nominate. The Nominating Committee will consider all submissions and prepare a slate for action by the Governing Membership.
Submitting Nominations for the Class of 2026

Individual Members should ensure their eligibility by confirming their membership status. Contact Chelsea Hardin-Hensley, Membership and Database Manager, chensley@nhchc.org, with any questions.
Terms: Board members are elected for two-year terms, with a two-term consecutive limit. Officers are elected for one-year terms.
Process: The Nominating Committee will consider each nominee’s eligibility according to the diversity guidelines; determine the willingness of the nominee to serve; and prepare a slate for election. The slate will be reviewed by the Board and placed before the Governing Membership for a consensus decision at its annual meeting on May 14, 2024. Thank you for your participation in the National HCH Council and in this important process.
