Father Joe’s Villages
The mission of Father Joe’s Villages (St. Vincent de Paul Village) is to help our neighbors in need break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by promoting self-sufficiency through an innovative continuum of care, multi-disciplinary programs, and partnerships that come together in the spirit of our CREED (Compassion, Respect, Empathy, Empowerment, Dignity) to teach, learn from, and challenge our neighbors and one another.
Through specifically targeted and innovative services and programs, our vision is to break the cycle of homelessness by addressing underlying causes: poverty, the difficulty of finding work that pays a livable wage, access to medical care, mental illness, drug addiction, and domestic violence. We help homeless persons help themselves to become self-sufficient, productive members of society through an extensive and innovative continuum of care.
The Village Family Health Center (VFHC) is a program of our organization. It is the largest provider of comprehensive health care to the uninsured in San Diego. Established in 1987, the VFHC offers comprehensive health services to the uninsured, homeless, and medically indigent people in downtown San Diego.
