The Community Medicine Program (CMP) has been caring for people at shelters and single-room-occupancy (SRO) hotels in New York City since 1969. We now provide services at 15 shelters, drop-in centers and SRO hotels throughout New York City.

The Community Medicine Program employs teams of health care providers including Physicians, Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, HIV Counselors, Outreach Workers, Nurse Practitioners, and Substance Abuse Counselors. These teams provide direct medical care, outreach, health screenings, health education, case management, crisis intervention and long-term counseling onsite and on a regular basis.
