$500,000 Philanthropic Partnership: Kaiser Permanente and the National Health Care for the Homeless Council
Sixteen nonprofits meeting the health needs of people experiencing homelessness in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic have been awarded a half-million dollars in grants through a funding partnership between Kaiser Permanente and the National Health Care for the Homeless Council (NHCHC).
With grants ranging from $25,000-$35,000, awardees in seven states and Washington, D.C., received funds: Lifelong Medical Care (Berkeley, CA), Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center (Hayward, CA), Illumination Foundation (Orange, CA), Elica Health Center (West Sacramento, CA), Father Joe’s Villages (San Diego, CA), San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium (San Francisco, CA), Santa Rosa Community Health Centers (Santa Rosa, CA), Venice Family Clinic (Venice, CA), Ascending to Health Respite Care (Colorado Springs, CO), Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (Denver, CO), Unity Health Care (Washington, DC), Mercy Care (Atlanta, GA), Wahiawa Health (Wahiawa, HI), Health Care for the Homeless (Baltimore, MD), Northwest Human Services, (Salem, OR), and CHAS Health (Spokane, WA).

Since 1986, we have brought together thousands of health care professionals, medical respite care providers, people with lived experience of homelessness, and advocates. Our Organizational Members include Health Care for the Homeless programs, medical respite programs, and housing and social service organizations across the country.
We work to improve homeless health care through Training and Technical Assistance, researching and sharing best practices, advocating for real solutions to end homelessness, and uplifting voices of people experiencing homelessness.
