This 90-minute webinar will provide participants with an introduction to foundational terminology and concepts related to LGBTQIA+ identity and experience of homelessness with a focus on LGBTQIA+ health care. Health center staff will learn about healthcare disparities and applicable clinical practices that participants can integrate into their own contexts.
Health center staff are welcomed and encouraged to join in groups but are asked to register individually. Both clinical and non-clinical staff are invited, including administrative staff and leadership. This webinar is the first activity in a series of educational offerings by the Council addressing LGBTQIA+ health and homelessness, and a recording of the session will be provided for staff who are unable to attend.

- Shawn Reilly, M.Ed
Shawn Reilly (they/them) graduated with an M.Ed. in Learning and Design from Peabody College, and is a current M.Div. candidate studying inter-religious encounter at the Vanderbilt Divinity School. Reilly is the program coordinator of the Trans Buddy program at the Program for LGBTQ Health at Vanderbilt, the first transgender patient navigation service in the country. In this position, Reilly works with Vanderbilt’s Gender Clinic, the only clinic for transgender health in the U.S. Southeast. Reilly serves as the Student Engagement and Leadership Chair of GLSEN Tennessee, working with Gender & Sexuality Alliances, teachers, and students across Tennessee to build inclusive and responsive schools for LGBTQI students. They are a youth advisory board member for Youth+Tech+Health, and are a founding member of the TN Department of Health Transgender HIV Task Force.
