Rural Health Corporation (RHC) serves a predominantly rural population of individuals and families who are homeless in Wilkes-Barre and the surrounding Greater Wyoming Valley in Luzerne County.

Linkages

RHC is affiliated with Wyoming Valley Health Care System (WVHCS) through which emergency and inpatient hospital services are provided. Through linkage with WVHCS, additional support is provided for laboratory and pharmacy, specialty care, and diagnostic services. Other linkages include HelpLine (24-hour service for outreach and coordination of after hours assistance), Catholic Social Services (food, clothing, emergency shelter, and preparation for independent living for adolescents), Commission on Economic Opportunity (case management, housing, and benefit assistance), Domestic Violence Service Center (emergency shelter and transitional living for women and children), and Salvation Army/Kirby Family House (transitional living for families).
