Henry J. Austin Health Center operates at four locations in the greater Trenton area. Its Health Care for the Homeless program is located in a new, state-of-the-art facility across the street from a shelter for homeless individuals and a new transitional housing program for families.

The project employs two full-time adult medicine/GYN providers, a part-time pediatrician, behavioral health care, and social work services at its Ewing Street location. These services complement the full lifecycle of primary care offered at Austin’s North Warren Street location and its satellite sites at Chambers Street in Trenton and in Hamilton Township.

Services

Henry J. Austin Health Center at Ewing Street serves men, women, and children in a full spectrum of primary care. Services also include behavioral health, social work, podiatry, infectious disease treatment, HIV and Hepatitis C testing and treatment, outreach, referrals, and health promotions/disease prevention.

Austin Center participates in the BPHC Diabetes Collaborative. Staff provide mobile health screenings throughout the city, including a local shelter, soup kitchen, and several transitional housing programs. Austin Center at Ewing Street anticipates expanding its dental services at this new facility.

Linkages

Ewing Health Center staff work closely with Community Options shelter, Escher Street SRO Housing, Greater Trenton Behavioral Healthcare, Homefront services to homeless families with children, Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK), and other community-based agencies.
