About the Event

The annual National Health Care for the Homeless Conference & Policy Symposium is the country’s largest gathering of practitioners of homeless health care, medical respite care, advocates, people with lived experience of homelessness, and researchers about homelessness. The conference offers tremendous opportunity to learn, grow professionally, reconnect with colleagues, and make new connections with our community.

Pre-Conference Institute (PCI)

• Date: Monday, June 8, 2026
• Cost: $240 members/$340 non-members
• Description: This includes a full day of a single topic Pre-Conference Institute. Topics include Medical Respite, Street Medicine, and Motivational Interviewing. Stay tuned if more are to come!

Learning Lab (LL)

• Date:Tuesday, June 9, 2026
• Cost: $80 members/$160 non-members
• Description: This includes a half-day single session of a Learning Lab, which can cover topics such as Consumer Engagement, Evaluation, Medical Respite, and Health in Older Adults.

Main Conference

• Date: Monday, June 8, 2026
• Cost: $740 members/$1,060 non-members
• Description: This includes your pick on-site of a range of concurrent sessions across tracks for the two days of Main Conference. (Wed - Thurs).

Full Conference

• Date: Monday, June 8, 2026
• Cost: $1,060 members/$1560 non-members
• Description: This includes a Pre-Conference Institute session (Monday), a Learning Lab session (Tuesday), and your pick on-site of a range of concurrent sessions across tracks for the two days of Main Conference. (Wed-Thurs).

Membership Status

You will be asked to select your membership type when you register. Membership status will be audited periodically, and you will be contacted if you have registered under the incorrect status. You can check your memberships status here or contact membership@nhchc.org.

Please note that Member Registration applies to staff of organizational membership status only. Those with individual memberships that are not representing a member organization should select Non-Member Registration.

Are Meals Included?

Registration includes breakfasts and lunches for all full days of Conference. Learning Labs (Tuesday) are half-day sessions, so lunch is not included. We encourage attendees to utilize the dining options at the hotel or at the City Walk and surrounding attractions.

What is the Council's cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be done by admin. If you need to cancel, contact Brett Poe at bpoe@nhchc.org to request cancellation and identify the attendees. Conference registration fees are refundable until April 24, 2026 minus an $80 cancellation fee.

If the Council cancels the Conference or if a company or organization disallows in-person attendance by its employees (e.g. programs restrict travel), a 100% refund will be given regardless of date of cancellation.

Can registrations be transferred to another staff that can attend?

Yes! To avoid a cancellation fee, registrations can be transferred to other staff. If registered as an organization member, the new attendee must be within the same organization. The name and email address of the original and new attendee can be sent to Brett Poe at bpoe@nhchc.org.

What payments are accepted for registration?

Online payment is preferred by the Council and the easiest process for the purchaser.

As the Council continues to expand nationally, centralized physical payments are becoming more cumbersome and not cost-effective nor are they efficient when booking for sessions that quickly fill up.

*The Council plans to move more toward a paperless payment format.*

If a physical check is the only option of payment, the individual or organization MUST request directly to Brett Poe at bpoe@nhchc.org.

Additional links and instructions will be provided for those seeking to pay offline in order to receive a confirmation and invoice that includes next steps.

Indicate if you plan to pay by physical check or e-check with banking and routing information.

If a physical check is the only option of payment, it MUST be post-dated by April 17.

Physical checks MUST be received by the Council before Friday, May 1.

Attendees registered under this payment method risk losing their positions and selected sessions as unpaid registrations by this date will be cancelled.

Payment by Check requests after April 17 will not be accepted. All registrations past this date MUST submit payment electronically by credit card.

Are there discounts for students?

Full-time students can send documentation verifying their full-time status to Brett Poe at bpoe@nhchc.org and a discount code will be sent to them.

Are there discounts for attendees with lived experience?

There is limited funding for attendee scholarships with lived experience. More details to come in January. If there are questions, please reach out to our Consumer Engagement Manager, Meredith Mollica, at mmollica@nhchc.org.

Conference Code of Conduct

We expect all event participants—whether attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, or NHCHC staff—to adhere to the following code of conduct throughout the conference. NHCHC is committed to enforcing these guidelines to ensure a positive and respectful experience for everyone. We believe in fostering an environment free from harassment and discrimination, where individuals of all genders, gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, body types, ethnicities, races, and religious beliefs feel safe and respected. Harassment in any form is strictly prohibited, including inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual advances, and any form of sexual language or imagery. This policy applies to all aspects of the conference, from sessions and workshops to social events, exhibits, sponsorship materials, and social media interactions.

If you are asked to cease any inappropriate behavior, we expect immediate compliance. Violations of this code may result in sanctions, including removal from the event without a refund, at NHCHC’s discretion. If you experience or witness harassment or have any concerns, please reach out to a member of the NHCHC staff right away.
