Many medical respite programs and providers are focused on day-to-day operations and meeting the needs of their clients. However, many of the most challenging issues facing the medical respite community are heavily influenced by the broader public policy environment, and it’s important for program leaders to know how and when to engage with policymakers.
This Coffee Chat will present an update on the policy landscape currently affecting people experiencing homelessness and programs that provide services (to include what’s happening with Medicaid, impact of the Big Beautiful Bill and Executive Orders, and more). The update will be followed by interactive conversation on ways for programs to respond to these policies as well as advocacy actions to take in the larger community.
