NHCHC Board of Directors, Class of 2027 – Call for Nominations

Nominate Yourself or a Colleague by February 27, 2026

The work of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council continues to be critical in this time of increasing homelessness. The Council’s endeavors in education, research, training, and support of health centers, HCH programs, and medical respite programs across the country depend on the strong leadership of an informed and inclusive Board of Directors that is representative of Council membership and to help guide our efforts in meeting the needs of our community.

Please help us identify outstanding leaders committed to our mission of eliminating homelessness. The Council is now accepting nominations for new Board members and officers. Each Board member is eligible to serve up to two, two-year terms. Officers generally serve one-year terms.

Any Individual Member or Organizational Member representative may submit a nomination, and members are encouraged to self-nominate. The Nominating Committee will review all submissions and prepare a slate for consideration by the Board of Directors.

Submitting Nominations for the Class of 2026

Eligible Nominees Include: Current Representatives of Organizational Members, Organizational Member representatives, and Individual Members (including members of the three networks: HCH Clinicians’ Network, Respite Care Providers’ Network, and National Consumer Advisory Board). Each network also directly chooses representatives to the Board.

Exceptions: Board members who are in the middle of their term, or who have reached their two-term limit are ineligible.

Note: Organizational Member representatives should ensure their eligibility by confirming that their organization is a dues-paying member in good standing.

Individual Members should ensure their eligibility by confirming their membership status. Email membership@nhchc.org with any questions.

Terms: Board members are elected for two-year terms, with a two-term consecutive limit. Officers are elected for one-year terms.

Process: The Nominating Committee will consider each nominee’s eligibility according to the diversity guidelines; determine the willingness of the nominee to serve; and prepare a slate for election. The slate will be presented to the Board of Directors for a consensus decision.
