Health Reform & the HCH Community: What You Need to KNOW, What You Need to DO
Presented by National Health Care for the Homeless Council
Thursday, April 20, 2017 | 1-2 p.m. EDT
While Congress did not pass the American Health Care Act, dismantling the ACA and overturning Medicaid expansion remains a priority for some lawmakers. Moreover, Medicaid coverage is at risk of being undermined by administrative and state-level changes that can happen immediately and will not draw as much attention. Together with proposed budget cuts to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, there is much at stake for those working at the cross-section of housing, health care, and homelessness. Fortunately, there is also a great deal that we can do to prevent these changes, and even help push for needed improvements.
Join us for an overview of the current health reform and budget landscape and how weโas a communityโcan be active, informed, and engaged in the struggle for health care justice.
