Grace Health

Formerly Family Health Center of Battle Creek (FHC) in southwestern lower Michigan in the cities of Battle Creek and Albion, Grace Health has been delivering primary health care for Calhoun County residents since 1986; designated a CHC in 1992; HCH in 2007. Grace Health cares for approximately 20% of the County’s population, 50% of the County’s Medicaid population and 30% of the County’s uninsured population.

Services

Grace Health employs a staff of 250 including board-certified physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social worker, holistic health coordinator, behavioral health specialist, substance abuse counselor and an audiologist. Support staff includes dental hygienists, nurses, medical and dental assistants, translators/interpreters, receptionists, schedulers, patient advocates, accounts representatives, patient information assistants, housekeeping, maintenance and administrative personnel. Services provided include Family Practice, OB/GYN and Women’s Health, Internal Medicine, Pediatric Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Ear-Nose-and-Throat, Complementary and Alternative Medicine, General Dentistry, social work, holistic health counseling, behavioral health and substance abuse counseling, health education, translation and deaf interpretation and a therapy pet. Pharmacy and lab services are on-site in Battle Creek; lab and x-ray services are on-site in Albion (provided by Oaklawn Hospital). Grace Health participates in a 340(B) Drug Pricing Program with the Federal Government and a Senior Millage Dental Program with Calhoun County. Grace Health also participates as a partner in the County Health Plan. The Center is a United Way of Greater Battle Creek agency as one of the community’s safety net programs.

Grace Health has linkages with every provider of human services in Calhoun County as well as organizations, groups and agencies in Calhoun County concerned about human services and access to those services. These would include, to name only a very few: Battle Creek Health System, Oaklawn Hospital of Marshall, Calhoun County Department of Human Services, Summit Pointe (local Community Mental Health agency), Regional Health Alliance, City of Battle Creek, Calhoun County/Greater Battle Creek Homeless Coalition, The Coordinating Council, Albion Health and Wellness Action Team, Albion Health Care Alliance, Calhoun County health Department, Nursing Clinic of Battle Creek, Fountain Clinic of Marshall, shelters, food bank, fraternal and social organizations and churches.
