15 Reasons to Celebrate: Meet the First NIMRC Certified Medical Respite Programs

Five years ago, the National Institute for Medical Respite Care (NIMRC) was created as a special program of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council to help expand and advance medical respite care. It is an understatement to say the program has exceeded expectations.

Creating a voluntary Medical Respite Certification process is just one of many significant accomplishments. The application process for all interested programs opens April 1, 2025!

To help us reach this milestone, 15 incredible programs participated in the certification testing phase. Their participation was instrumental in helping the Council’s medical respite team develop an effective and reliable certification process for the field of medical respite care.
