Pharmacy Purchaser (Portland, OR)

Central City Concern is seeking a Pharmacy Purchaser!  

The Pharmacy Purchaser, in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team, is responsible for managing the medication and pharmacy supply purchasing program. This includes managing medication/supply ordering, invoice processing, inventory control and 340B compliance for multiple sites both internal and external to Pharmacy Services. Additionally, in conjunction with the Pharmacy Director, this position will have a principal role in supplier management, contract compliance, and support for the agency’s medication needs across multiple sites. As part of the Pharmacy Leadership team, this person will also have significant responsibilities in identification, planning, and execution of program development and process improvement projects that may lie outside of the supply chain duties. These responsibilities will require data gathering and reporting, supporting the Pharmacy Leadership team, interfacing with multiple departments on behalf of pharmacy services, and managing medication formularies within Central City Concern. Planning, implementation and maintenance of pharmacy information systems projects are a shared component among the Pharmacy Leadership team 

Duties to include:

  • Management of pharmacy medication and supply purchasing program including developing strategy, creating policies and developing quality assurance measures
  • Management of ordering, invoice processing, and return/waste management
  • Management of medication distribution and monitoring programs (e.g. naloxone, emergency medications, etc.)
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance for Pharmacy supply chain including but not limited to 340B, DEA, Oregon Board of Pharmacy, EPA, DOT and HRSA.
  • Data collection and reporting to monitor program quality, compliance and efficiency
  • Managing medication purchasing and control for CCC departments external to Pharmacy Services
  • Active participation and responsibility in Pharmacy Leadership activities internal and external to the supply chain 


  • Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician or ability to become a CPhT upon hire
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Must be able to create spreadsheets, presentations, and use other tools in Microsoft Office to create documents, report and analyze metrics and present data effectively
  • Ability work with multiple technology/software systems at an advanced level of proficiency after suitable training as appropriate
  • Must be able to travel to different CCC locations as needed
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB Test, and background check.
