PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for the direction and coordination of assigned medical and clinical services of the HOMES program.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

– Must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Medical Association (AMA) approved residency for appropriate specialty.

Experience:

– Must have five (5) years’ experience as a physician in an academic or clinical setting.

– Education and experience in the areas of medical management, utilization management and quality improvement/patient safety is preferred.

– Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is preferred.

Certification/Registration/Licensure:

– Must be currently licensed for the practice of medicine in the State of Texas.

– Must meet and maintain licensing and registration requirements as delineated by the – Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures, if any.

– Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

– Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-100.HCB: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

– Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-200.HCA: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations (ICS 200) or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

Skills or Special Abilities:

– Must have proven written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated leadership ability.

– Must have proven capability to communicate and to develop positive productive working relationships with physician colleagues and management.

– Must be recognized by peers as an outstanding clinician.

– Must be capable of recruiting, developing and motivating people.

– Must be objective, flexible, and tactful in dealing with sensitive medical staff issues, practice patterns, clinical resource utilization and sensitive patient issues.
