Harm Reduction Coordinator (Albuquerque, NM)

Since 1985, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless has dedicated its mission exclusively to providing services to people experiencing homelessness. AHCH provides a distinctive continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services to address the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness. Our vision is to live in a world that is just and without homelessness. We believe that homelessness is an issue that can be solved through access to quality health care, adequate and affordable housing, and a living wage.

We are looking for an energetic and engaged individual to head up our harm reduction team.  Our ideal candidate will have a focus on customer service and developing rapport with underserved populations.  We are looking for someone that can balance compliance requirements with compassion for our clients.  Our ideal candidate will be an amazing team player who can interface with many stakeholders both in and out of the organization.

Minimum qualifications: thorough understanding of harm reduction philosophy and the integration of that philosophy with client services, willingness and comfort with being actively present in a variety of hours and conditions, previous experience working with populations experiencing mental illness, substance use issues, sex trafficking, and chronic illness, ability to work in chaotic or noisy environments, high level of organization and adherence to deadlines, Bachelor’s degree in human services, behavioral health, or relevant field or work experience,  3 years of harm reduction-based outreach setting work

Preferred qualifications: Masters’ degree in human services, behavioral health, or relevant field or experience, 2 years of leadership experience in a harm reduction outreach setting, bilingual Spanish/English, previous experience in an FQHC
