She was instrumental in starting the Consumer Advisory Board in Boston and the National Consumer Advisory Board (NCAB). This award is named in her honor.

Self-nomination is acceptable and encouraged.

2024 John N. Lozier Scholarship for New Members

In addition to honoring Mr. Lozier, founding Executive Director of NHCHC, the purpose of this scholarship is to inspire health care professionals to sustain the Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) movement initiated by Mr. Lozier and other pioneers in the 1980s.

We encourage applications from hands-on providers, administrators, funders, and community partners.

2024 Willie J. Mackey National Medical Respite Award

This award recognizes an individual who has made a profound impact on their community through the delivery or advancement of medical respite care. The award is named in honor of Willie J. Mackey, a dedicated member of the RCPN Steering Committee and a fierce advocate for medical respite care.

Self-nomination is acceptable and encouraged.

2024 Karen Rotondo Award for Outstanding Service

This award honors the memory and legacy of Karen Rotondo, RN, the “Founding Mother” of the HCH Clinicians’ Network. We encourage nominations of clinicians who provide culturally appropriate, high-quality hands-on care to people experiencing homelessness.

Any clinician may nominate their colleague, but self-nominations are not accepted.

COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS

2024 Clinicians’ Network Steering Committee

The Health Care for the Homeless Clinicians’ Network is the nation’s leading membership group that connects hands-on providers from many disciplines who are committed to improving the health and quality of life of people experiencing homelessness.

Steering Committee members are actively engaged in shaping the Council’s clinical agenda, creating, and disseminating resources to improve care across the field, and advocating for solutions to homelessness.

Candidates must currently be providing hands-on care to people experiencing homelessness. Only Individual Members of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council or employees of Organizational Members are eligible to be nominated or to submit nominations.

Self-nomination is acceptable and encouraged.

2024 Respite Care Providers’ Network (RCPN) Steering Committee

The mission of the RCPN is to improve the health status of individuals who are homeless by supporting programs that provide medical respite care and related services. The RCPN Steering Committee works to achieve this mission.

We encourage nominations from hands-on medical respite providers, administrators, funders, and community partners. We are especially interested in nominees with lived experience of homelessness and those with experience working within a Managed Care Organization or related payor.

Any RCPN member may nominate a candidate for election to the Steering Committee. Self-nomination is acceptable and encouraged.

2024 National Consumer Advisory Board (NCAB) Steering Committee

The NCAB Steering Committee is responsible for organizing consumers to have a voice in national issues involving the health care of individuals experiencing homelessness.

We encourage nominations of individuals with lived experience of homelessness who have participated in services at a Health Care for the Homeless program and have been involved in the governance of an HCH program.

Self-nomination is acceptable and encouraged.

BOARD NOMINATIONS

NHCHC Board of Directors, Class of 2026

The Council’s endeavors in education, research, training, and support of health centers, HCH programs, and medical respite programs across the country depend on the strong leadership of an informed and inclusive Board of Directors. We rely on the Board to be representative of Council membership and to help guide our efforts in meeting the needs of our community.

The Council is now accepting nominations for new Board members and officers.

Only Individual Members of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council or employees of Organizational Members are eligible to be nominated or to submit nominations.
